Who were One Direction and Liam Payne?
Born in Wolverhampton, in the West Midlands region of the United Kingdom, Payne
is the youngest of three siblings. He studied music technology at the City of Wolverhampton College to prepare for his future job in the music industry.
Young Payne, first debuted on the UK version of The X Factor,
a reality music competition TV show, in 2008 at the age of 14, although he did
not go past the first round. Unfazed, he returned two years later and won the
judges over with a stirring performance of "Cry Me A River."
One of the judges, Simon Cowell, who became well-known for being a brutally
critical judge on the TV reality show American Idol, brought the One Direction members together on that X Factor show in July 2010.
Payne shared a Snapchat video of himself eating breakfast with
Kate Cassidy, his current girlfriend, only hours before he passed away.
"Good morning, everyone. It's a beautiful day here in Argentina," he
says at the start of the video. He keeps up his lighthearted banter with
Cassidy, occasionally grinning, while discussing things like riding horses,
playing polo, and going home to visit his dog, Stan. "So, it's going to be
a nice day," he says as he ends the video.
Liam Payne will surely be missed by his Fans worldwide.
